Why?

Profit for People is an effort to amplify and extend symbiotic behaviour. Why? Because the quality of human interaction dictates the quality of one’s life. I like to be lifted up. I like to be inspired. I’m guessing that you do too.

Where?

Where the knowledge gaps are. Grassroots knowledge often doesn’t make it to the powers-that-be. Academic knowledge often doesn’t make it into legislated policy. Management is, on occasion, clueless as to what is actually happening. All of these knowledge gaps present opportunities for the individuals directly affected to sell their knowledge, if there is a means to do so. Similarly, for those with the means to address issues, all of these gaps are opportunities to improve performance – if they know about them.

What?

Profit for People is a website, see www.profit4people.org . It is designed to conduct campaigns to obtain information from large groups of people. Campaigns differ from surveys in key aspects. They are designed to adapt temporally and to allow both bottom-up, and user-based design (i.e. grassroots influence and feedback). They are not driven solely by a group or individual conducting research, but rather, beginning with a careful design, and seeded with initial funding, continue to evolve and develop on their own under the influence, ownership and guidance of a large user base.

How?

What is fundamentally important to our progress? It is our problems. Without a problem to work on, there is no opportunity to improve, since everything is already satisfactory. We need our problems. The word, problem, has a negative connotation. Let’s avoid that, and call a problem an issue. Next, let’s make a website that is, first and foremost, for as many people as possible. On this site, let’s respectfully acquire, refine and sell knowledge about issues. From these proceeds, let’s pay the people who provide the information. Should the people who buy the knowledge use it to address the issues the information is on, then people profit in two ways: (i) from knowledge sold regarding their issues, (ii) from actions other people execute to address them. Others may yet profit further by selling services to address issues. Hence the name – Profit for People.

Whom?

For whom is Profit for People? It is for people from all walks of life: labourers, reporters, scientists, politicians, managers, doctors, etc. Everyone walking their own path has knowledge others do not. Provide information on the issues you face, and/or actions that might be taken to resolve issues, either yours or those faced by others, and receive payment once these issues and/or actions become the topic of a funded campaign.
